How to Download Songs From Limewire to Your iPod
Limewire is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that allows you to download songs to your computer. You can also use Limewire along with iTunes as a way to add downloaded songs to your iPod. This can be done with any older or newer iPod. It can save you hundreds of dollars that you would spend on albums. You must be careful when doing this, though, as you may damage your iPod or computer. Here is how you can download songs from Limewire to your iPod.
Instructions
-
-
1
Download and install iTunes if it is already not on your computer. This program is necessary to add the downloaded songs to your iPod.
-
2
Download and install Limewire. You can use the free version of Limewire to add songs to your iPod.
-
-
3
Open Limewire and download whatever songs you want to add to your iPod. Allow the songs to finish downloading.
-
4
Click the "Tools" options at the top of the Limewire program. A drop box will appear on the screen. Select "Options" and a new box will open.
-
5
Click the "Saving" option in the left column of the box. This will open your "Save Folder" information. Read the information that is found in the text box to the right of the "Folder" heading. This is the folder where your downloaded songs are located. You can either remember this location or simply keep the box open.
-
6
Open the version of iTunes on your computer.
-
7
Click the "File" option at the top of the program.
-
8
Choose "Add Folder to Library" and a box will open on the screen.
-
9
Scroll down the box until you find the folder where your Limewire songs have been downloaded. This is the folder that is mentioned in step 5. Choose that folder and click "OK" and the songs will be added to iTunes. Some files may have to be converted to the right format so they can be placed on your iPod. The iTunes program will automatically convert the files for you.
-
10
Plug your iPod into your computer and then locate the Limewire songs in your iTunes library. Once you find those songs, drag them to your iPod (located underneath the "Devices" option on the left side of the iTunes program) and the songs will be added to your iPod.
