Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Building a Platform
    Building a Platform

BUILD A PLATFORM. Your platform is your venues and experiences through which you can sell your book. If you are a teacher, your platform is the students and parents at your school. If you are a stay at home mom, church and parenting groups could be your platform.

  2. Step 2
    Purchase a Website

PURCHASE A CHEAP DOMAIN NAME OR WEBSITE FOR YOUR BOOK. Microsoft office live offers a FREE website or luckyregister.com gets you a domain that you can link directly to your book on Amazon.
(EXAMPLE: Go to www.whyandhowresources.com to see my website or www.8trackparent.com as an example of how the domain name works.)

  3. Step 3

    Teaching a Seminar

OFFER TO TEACH CLASSES OR SEMINARS ON THE SUBJECT. Community, Family and Charity groups are always looking for guest speakers on topics. Look in your local newspaper or your cities webpage for groups that meet and contact them to set it up.

  4. Step 4
    Public Relations
    Public Relations

So, a friend of my (who is also an author) wrote up and sent out a nationwide press release. As a result, I’ve had interviews with radio stations, newspapers and bloggers about my self-published book. (Contact him at www.johnnemobooks.com)
