How to Make Mailing Labels From Outlook Contacts
Writing address labels by hand can be tedious, especially if you need to address a lot of envelopes. If you're a Microsoft Outlook user, a few simple steps can save you hours of work! This quick trick is especially handy for time-consuming tasks such as holiday cards, employee newsletters or customer mailings. By using the mail merge feature in Microsoft Word, you can create labels that are professional and creative in no time at all.

Click "Select Recipients" on the bottom of the Mail Merge task pane. Click the radio button next to "Select From Outlook Contacts" and then click "Choose Contacts Folder" in the menu that appears below. Select your Outlook profile from the dialog box that appears. In the Mail Merge dialog box that opens, you can choose to select all contacts, or select only certain contacts by making sure the box next to their name is checked. Click "Ok" and you will see that the label fields have been populated by <<Next Record>>. Do not delete this text.

Select "Arrange Your Labels" from the task pane. From here, you can customize your labels with the information you want printed on them; for example, you can place a company logo on each label. Information that is not the same for each label, like the address, cannot be typed and must be added via placeholder. Click "Address Block" and select the format for the recipient's name and address, and click "Ok." Once you are done customizing the layout of your mailing label, click "Update All Labels" to give each label the same layout and placeholder information.

Click "Next" to preview your labels. You should see that the fields have been populated with the names and addresses from your Outlook address book. Click "Next" again to complete the mail merge and print your mailing labels.
Tips & Warnings
To add a picture or logo to your labels, click "Insert," select "Picture" and click "From File." Find the picture you want to use and click "Insert" again.
If you cant' find the product number for your labels in the list of options, you can do one of two things. You can find another label that matches the exact dimensions of the labels you bought and select that, or you can create custom labels. To create custom labels, select "New Label" and type in the height and width of your labels, give it a name, and click "Ok."
