How to Make Dangling Earings
Making dangling earrings can be very simple. You can explore creative jewelry ideas by trying different things once you understand how to create the most basic type of dangling earrings. Things You'll Need
- Sterling silver chain
- 2 ear wires or hooks
- 4 small loops
- Heart or flower pendant

Decide how long you want your dangling earrings to be. Buy a sterling silver chain at least 12 inches long, then cut it in half to get two 6-inch sections, for example (see Resources below). Use pliers to cut the chain.

Use small loops to connect the chain with the earring design. If the loops don't have a small opening, then cut one with the pliers. Slip one end of the chain through the loop (see Resources below).

Attach another loop through the other side of the chain. Use an ear wire or hook and attach to the top of the wire by slipping its small attachment at its end through the hoop. Then close the hoop with the pliers.

Take the heart or flower and attach it to the other end of the chain. A flower should have small openings where the petals are to make it easy to slip into the hoop. The heart should have a small attachment to it in order to be able to slip it through the hoop.

Close the hoop with pliers. Make sure that the hook or ear wire is bent to where the earring will dangle. Adjust the wire by bending as needed.

Sterilize the earring wire or hook using rubbing alcohol before putting it into your ear.
