Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Write the Book
    Write the Book

WRITE THE BOOK! Yes, a no-brainer. Use Microsoft Word to write out the script, making sure that you are adding a table of contents, page numbers and section dividers.

  2. Step 2

RESEARCH SELF-PUBLISHING COMPANIES ONLINE. There are many out there that will publish your book for a wide range of fees. I use a company called Create Space because they are FREE and they print the book on demand (which means no inventory for you). They are a subsidiary of AMAZON.com and put your book on Amazon with an ISBN number for FREE.

  3. Step 3
    World Wide Web

PURCHASE A CHEAP DOMAIN NAME OR WEBSITE FOR YOUR BOOK. Microsoft Office Live offers a FREE website or luckyregister.com gets you a domain that you can link directly to your book on Amazon. (EXAMPLE: Go to www.whyandhowresources.com to see my website or www.8trackparent.com as an example of how the direct domain name works.)

  4. Step 4
    Keep Writing

KEEP WRITING. Just because you’ve just published the next great American novel doesn’t mean you’re done. Do whatever it takes to keep a habit of writing and someday, a publisher may pick up your work.
