Choose a date for the party. While Super Bowl Sunday might be the automatic choice for the party date, some avid football fans may not want to attend a party during the game, so send out an e-mail or make some phone calls before you plan the event.

Send out invitations. Invitations can be sent in many ways such as e-mail, text messages or by "snail mail." Whatever method of sending the invitations you use be sure to add some football-related art or terms.

Plan a menu. Keep food simple. Finger foods and foods that don't have to be heated are the best choice. Ask your local bakery about a football-shaped cake, or a football-shaped cupcake tray, for an added festive touch.

Shop for decorations. This should be one of the most enjoyable and easiest thing to do. During the NFL playoffs many stores will put out NFL merchandise and party supplies. Be sure to get streamers and balloons in the team colors.

Decorate for the party. Be sure that you don't have anything blocking the television. The more decorations the better.
