**Focus on the solution**

The body's brain triggers the flight or fight response, which produces tumultuous feelings of rage, resentment, and frustration. Adrenaline and cortisol chemicals increase rapidly. **Feel the loss**
After being laid off feel the feelings. A job loss is like any other loss. Part of the solution is grieving the broken dream of the future. Cry. Punch pillows. Write your feelings on paper or on a computer. Before moving on, it's important to feel the loss. Treat yourself like you would a close friend or relative who is the same situation. Express your feelings. Then comfort yourself when feeling depressed.

Psycho-spiritually, it is possible to cure depression instantly by activating the awareness part of consciousness. If your depression is caused by thinking/analysing, you need to realise that for you your consciousness is awareness as well as thinking. Thinking can be categorised into three sub-sections, thinking about the past, "present" and future. To stop the depression, stop thinking about the past/future via actively concentrating on the present moment. Once you are in the present moment the trick is to just observe your emotions that you are feeling, without thinking, this will activate the awareness part of consciousness. Next focus your energy in the present moment away from your body onto your surroundings atmosphere/environment. Now all you have to do is maintain this feeling of awareness, best done by busying yourself with positive things.
