Things You'll Need:
- Dish Network DVR (Properly connected to your Television)
- A Television
- Your Dish Network remote control
-
Step 1
There are a number of ways to record a TV show or moving using the Dish Network DVR. One of the most intuitive ways to record a program is to use the guide to select the desired program and press select. This brings up the "Create Timer" screen which allows you to customize how you want to record your show!
-
Step 2
Directional and Select buttonsOn the "Create Timer" screen you will have 2 main options: "Type" and "Frequency". The type refers to how you want the DVR to handle the scheduled event. For the purposes of this article, we will leave it to the default of "DVR".
Under "Frequency" we are given more options:
- All Episodes
- New Episodes
- Once
- Weekly
- Daily
- Mon-Fri
Depending on how often you want to record you may want to request that the DVR record only new episodes, but if the desired show is anolder series or a movie you might want to select All Episodes to ensure that your DVR catches them all. Other frequency options allow you to set the DVR to record the same program only once, only one time per week or only Monday thru Friday. -
Step 3
Once you have set your options, select "Done" on the screen. After your selected items have recorded, you certainly need to be able to watch them! You can retrieve your recorded programs by selecting the DVR button on the Dish Network remote. Depending on the model of your DVR receiver, you may need to also select "My Recordings" from the on-screen menu.
On the listing of your recorded programs, select the program you would like to watch using the directional buttons on the remote control and pressing select. Once you have selected the program, the screen will display a brief description of the episode or movie. Using the remote control select "Play" from the on-screen menu. Now you can watch your favorite TV Show whenever you like!
