How to Build A Website For Free

Building a website is a good idea for many reasons. People use them for all sorts of things! You could use one for your business, club, to share information, etc. Sure you could pay someone to build one for you. But that's a complete waste of money! Here's how to build one for free.

1. Visit web sites that offer free building tools, and free web space. Avoid web sites that only offer a free page. Your looking for web sites that will offer the space for an actual website. I have learned that a good website to use is www.webs.com. (We'll refer to this website as the "host".)

2. You won't receive an actual domain such as www.----.com. If that is something that you want, you will have to pay for it. What you will receive is something called a sub-domain such as www.webs.com/yoursite. This is a special domain that your "host" will provide to you for free. It is address that people will enter to find your website.

3. Build your website. It will probably take quite a bit of time and work, depending on how well you would like your website to look. It is always best to include images, and coordinated colors in your website. This will help make your website look more professional. If your website looks sloppy (like it was just thrown together in a matter of minutes) people may not take it so seriously.

Tips & Warnings

• It's always a good idea to add Adsense to your website. This will put ads on the pages of your website. Anytime someone clicks one of those ads, you will get paid. To do so, you must sign up for adsense at www.google.com. Adsense is absolutely free, so therefore, you have nothing to lose.
• Promote your website. If you have no desire to pay for advertising, you can mention your website in forums, friends, and on other web sites. After all, the best form on advertising, it spread by mouth.
