Fleas are a pain in your dog's life, so why not make him a flea collar that doesn't contain dangerous chemicals?

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 tsp Alcohol

  • 1 drop Cedarwood

Instructions

    • 1

Buy the cheapest material pet collar, or if you already have a pet collar, you'll be soaking it in the ingredients listed.

    • 2

Mix all the ingredients in a jar, breaking open the garlic capsules. Close the lid and mix well BEFORE placing the collar in.

    • 3

When mixed, add your collar to the liquid, letting it soak for a couple of minutes. (leave the lid on, you don't want the liquid to evaporate)

    • 4

Once you know the liquid has penetrated the collar, take it out and let it dry. Then place on your favorite cat or dog. The collar should be good for about a month.

    • 5

In the meantime, what you can do to eliminate your fleas is to wash all the pet's bedding. Bug bomb the house for fleas, and spray the yard. Plant lavender plants around doorways and in pet yards. Sprinkle your dog or cat's food with garlic a little a day. Give the dog a flea bath.

Fleas spend only 1/8 of their time on your family pet- the rest of the time, they are happily crawling around in your carpet or waiting to infect your dog in the backyard.

This kind of one-two punch should be enough to eliminate your flea problem in no time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your pet shouldn't be allergic but just in case, check under the collar after the first day to be sure. If there is redness, remove the collar and do all the rest of the things this article has mentioned.
