1. If you have a home desktop PC, mac or personal notebook, you may access for free or can download a budget software such as Microsoft Money or Quicken to help design your remodeling budget sheet.

2. Design your remodeling budget sheet around 6 main categories:
   1. Total Monthly Gross Income
   2. Remodeling Housing budget Increase/Decreases
   3. Remodeling Material Costs
   4. Remodeling Labor Costs
   5. Miscellaneous Expenses
   6. Total Net Monthly Income (free income available)

3. Household budget increases/decreases should include rent or mortgage, property and casualty, finance payments, utilities, taxes, and any additional household repairs that come with remodeling.

4. Remodeling Material Costs includes budget for any materials used for construction, flooring, furniture, accent pieces, etc.

5. A Miscellaneous category should be included on your budget sheet for any unexpected or emergency remodeling costs unplanned for.
