      One of the best resources for finding missing family members is the internet. You may think your grandma is too old to use the internet but you could be wrong. She may have won a big bingo game and had her name published in a newspaper. So don't hesitate to use the internet to search.

      Try various search engines when trying to locate missing family members. Try google, alta vista, yahoo, msn, and any other search engine you can think of. Use maiden and married names, also try attaching a date of birth to the search or the last city you know they resided in.

      Try doing a phone number search. You can use a service through yahoo called people search. If they have a land based line you should be able to locate them that way.

      Contact the high school or college that your missing family member attending. Inquire about alumni records. Some schools offer alumni books that include information about the alums. You may be able to locate them that way.

      If none of these options work you can consider hiring a private investigator. Just keep in mind that private investigators charge a fee for their services.
