Things You'll Need:
- milk or OJ cartons
- silicone cake pans
- cleaned and boiled aluminum cans
- masking or duct tape
-
Step 1
Decide what shape you want for your soap. If this is purely utilitarian then rectangles are easy and fine. If this is a special soap you might want to use a mold like a silicone cake pan or ice cube tray.
-
Step 2
The bottom of a milk carton makes a great square mold of a good size Just cut off the top portion until you have a 2" deep square. If you need something larger you can cut the carton length wise again cutting off the top. Make cuts along the corners so you can fold the flaps to make a new wall for the rectangle the size you like. Tape up with masking tape or duct tape.
-
Step 3
A tin can makes a round mold. Just pour the soap to the level you'd like. then can opener the closed in and push the soap out.
-
Step 4
For specialty shapes silicone pans and trays work great. They can take the heat and are easy to push out because they are flexible.
