Lifeprint.com is an online site that will show you the signs for common words right on your computer screen without logging in or purchasing a program. ASLpro.com is another site that will display sign language words. There is also a link on ASL pro that will show the American Sign Language for babies dictionary.

Another option for learning sign language is to purchase or check out a book from your local library. There are many instructional sign language books that give great illustrations of sign language. Bookstores offer a large selection of sign language books and some even carry DVD instructional videos.

Contact your local college or university to find out if sign language courses are available. If not there may be a technical college or community center that offers free classes or classes for a small fee.

If you are seeking to learn baby sign language there are many DVD's, books and programs for kids that teach basic sign language. PBS has a show called Signing Time that designates an entire half-hour episode to teaching sign language with songs and practicing. Check your local listings to see if the program can be viewed in your area.
