Sometimes it's hard to wake up in the morning. You feel like there is no point or reason because you don't have anything to look forward to, or you want to avoid whatever may happen. You can't just sleep your life away, even when you're in your roughest of times. Here are a couple of steps and tips to help you achieve a brighter tomorrow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First off, you have to find out what it is that makes you not want to get up. You need to grasp this problem and try to understand it as much as you can.

Writing a journal helps to relieve issues. Sometimes it's hard to talk to other people about what's bothering you, or you just can't talk to anybody anyways. Writing in a journal makes you feel like you've got it off your chest at least a little bit. Not only writing in it every night is the best way to go about it, but also when your having a bad moment at any given time.

Take a sleeping aid before you start to write in the journal, that way by the time you're done you can fall right asleep.

  2. Step 2

Now that you understand what your problem is, you can find your motivation to wake up. Set goals for yourself. What is something you really want to achieve? You're obviously not happy with the way things are going for you at the moment, figure out a way to change that.

Sleeping away your life is not the answer to your problems, in fact, over sleeping can make you even more agitated or depressed. You need to seize the day, live your life the way you want to, don't settle for less when you don't have to.

You may even need to seek help for your issues. It's not terrible to get help, it doesn't mean you are a crazy person, it is a natural concept that is more helpful than most people realize. Try taking a free depression test online before going to a therapist.

  3. Step 3

Set your alarm clock for the same time everyday! Get used to waking up and going to sleep at the same times everyday, it's liable to change at some point but for right now, you need a little structure.

Set your alarm clock for 30 minutes before you'd like to go to sleep so you can get ready for bed, write in your journal and take your sleeping aid.

Set your alarm for the morning and DON'T hit the snooze button or just go back to sleep. It's best if you don't take your time getting out of bed. If you just sit up, turn off the alarm, get up and start the coffee while you hop in a hot shower, you will be wide awake and ready for anything.

  4. Step 4

If you follow these steps and tips, you surely will be able to find a way to motivate yourself and stop sleeping your life away. Find your happiness, life isn't worth living without it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid going out too late and staying up too late for a while. This way you can stay on a schedule and develop a natural habit of going to bed at this time and waking up at that time without help.
  • Avoid situations or people that aren't going to motivate you. People who aren't doing good for themselves will bring you down, surround yourself with people who have goals and actual wants in life.
