Ever have one of those days where you just can't get your horse to load in the trailer ? Well come on and lets have some more fun.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Horse
  • Horse trailer
  1. Step 1

There is nothing more frustrating then getting ready for a big trail ride or parade, and your horse just wont go into that horse trailer. You push, you pull , and you even tell him that you are going to take him to the glue factory, if he doesn't get in. He still wont get in. OK, this is how we won the battle.

  2. Step 2

    * When we had baby's, we always took them in the trailer with the mother and fed them there. But then you get a older horse, and he will not load. Put your trailer in your pasture and tie the doors back. Put some good food inside the trailer just a little ways inside for the start. Take your time and do not rush the horse. Each day move the food back a little further into the trailer, where your horse has to reach further each day.

  3. Step 3

He will start to get comfortable with the trailer and soon will be walking into it. Many horses have had rough rides in trailers and become shy to get back in. Never rush your horse into a new project, and you will be rewarded.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take your time.
  • Tie the doors back, so your horse doesn't get trapped.
  • Always give your horse a smooth ride, and no sudden stops.
  • Always check the floor of the trailer for bad boards.
  • Always check the tires and replace if they look bad.
  • Always drive with care, and give your horse a good ride.
  • Always have quick releases on the tie downs on your horse, while transporting.
