How you REACT to what life throws your way is the key - not placing blame for where you are.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • SELF-WORTH
  • ABILITY TO BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF
  • A NOTEBOOK OR JOURNAL
  1. Step 1

Take an honest look at your life. Are you happy? YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THIS! Use a notebook or a journal and write down how you feel about things that have happened in your life. Re-read it often. Do you notice any pattern? Can you see ways that circumstances could have been different if you had REACTED differently?

  2. Step 2

Stop blaming others for your situation. An awful lot of people grew up with varying degrees of negativity. It is possible to move beyond trauma that is holding you back and causing you to accept the role of "the victim". YOUR CHILDHOOD IS OVER! LET GO! If your parents are still in your life they no longer control what you do or what you think. If there are negative people in your life it is because you ALLOW them to be there. If they need to be in your life, it is your CHOICE and you decide how you will deal with them.

  3. Step 3

Join a support group. Boost your self-esteem so that you feel worthy of being in control of what kind of life you lead. You can always find someone who will feel sorry for you or take pity on you but why be seen as some pathetic creature? Do you really want to live that way? YOU CAN BE A CAPABLE, COMPETENT, HAPPY ADULT.

Tips & Warnings
  • TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
  • You decide how you will REACT to any given situation. If something makes you feel badly- look at why and FIX IT!!
  • STOP EXPECTING OTHERS TO "TAKE CARE" OF YOU. You are an adult. Even the most compassionate person gets frustrated dealing with someone who doesn't want to help themself!
