How To Make a Facebook Page for Your Business, Product, Band, or Organization

Save

Facebook is the gateway to social networking, so you need to inject your business into the social media mix. Once you have set up a Facebook page, you can use it to get promotions in front of potential customers; to field feedback from customers; and to post positive feedback from customers, among many other functions.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  • Facebook account

Log in to your Facebook account. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "About" button.

You will be taken to Facebook's organization page. Here you can get ideas of all the different types of information and items you can post. You can post logos/photos, write background information on your company, post relevant links, add upcoming events/meetings, and even include video.

Now that you have an idea of all the possibilities, click on "Create a Page" located at the bottom of the page, then click on the "Local Business or Place" icon.

Get specific and select your type of business/organization. It may be that "Other Business" (the first option) is most fitting. In this section you can also select whether this page is for a brand, product, artist, band, or public figure.

You should then enter the name of your business/organization. Then click "Create Page."

This will take you to your new page, where you can add specific information about your business.

Once you've completed your page, you'll want to get the word out that it exists. This is easy to do. Scroll down and on the lower right you'll see "Share." Now you'll be able to share with friends and post it to your profile.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep content appropriate, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Only create a business page for real groups which comply with Facebook's terms.
