Step 1
There are specialty stainless steel cleaners for cleaning stainless steel. They come as either a cream or in a spray. They often cost twice the price of regular cleaners of the same volume.
-
Step 2
Dusting spray, such as Pledge, is often good for cleaning stainless steel. Make sure to check the directions on your particular brand to see if it is safe on stainless steel. While you are cleaning the stainless steel, they are also usually good for cleaning leather and stone (make sure to check the packaging before trying this).
-
Step 3
You can use plain soap and water to clean stainless steel if yours gets as dirty as mine. I usually wash mine down with soap and water to get the big mess left by my kids dirty hands, then follow with dusting spray.
-
Step 4
Martha Stewart suggests using ammonia cleaner, such as Windex, to clean stainless steel. She claims that it leave the stainless steel streak free, however I have never tried it because I was told by the appliance store to NEVER using Windex on stainless steel.
