Things You'll Need:
- 6 oz dark chocolate
- 1 ¼ cup whole milk or heavy cream
- 1 TSP vanilla extract
- 2 TBSN unsalted butter
- 2 TBSN chocolate, coffee, or hazelnut liqueur
- ¼ to ½ cup chocolate chips
-
Step 1
Break up the dark chocolate into small pieces and set aside.
-
Step 2
Place your fondue pot on the stove over medium heat. If your pot can’t go directly on the stove, use a saucepan and then transfer the finished fondue into the fondue pot at the end. Add the milk, vanilla, and butter and heat until it just comes to a simmer. Be careful not to burn the milk.
-
Step 3
Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the dark chocolate. Keep stirring until it is completely melted. If you find that your mixture isn’t thick enough, gradually add some of the chocolate chips until it is to your liking. At the last moment, stir in your favorite liqueur.
-
Step 4
Serve with sliced green apples, seedless cherries, strawberries or other berries, rum cake, pound cake, pretzels, cookies, rice crispie treats, or anything else that you like.
