So are you heading toward Phoenix, Arizona for a vacation? Phoenix vacations can be a lot of fun, not to mention warmer if you’re in the snowy states. If you don’t have a Phoenix vacation package and don’t have time to buy one, then follow these tips to get the most out of your Phoenix travel.

  1. Step 1
    Arizona Biltmore

    On your Phoenix vacation you should visit the Arizona Biltmore. It is an historic hotel with spa treatments and history tours. They also have a great golf course.

  2. Step 2

    Do you like trails? If so, then the South Mountain has 16,000 acres with 51 miles of trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding during your Phoenix vacation. This municipal park is the ideal place to experience the great outdoors without even leaving the city.

  3. Step 3

    While you’re on your Phoenix vacation, try traveling east. There is a 40 mile stretch of Highway 88 that is designated to a National Scenic Byway, which takes you past steep canyons, lakes and wilderness areas. Or travel north to spend a day exploring the former mining town of Prescott, which is now a popular central Arizona destination.

    Do you enjoy Native American art and artifacts? If so, then don’t miss the Heard Museum while on your Phoenix vacation. They have jewelry, textiles, pottery and baskets to name a few.

  5. Step 5

    While on your Phoenix vacation, don’t forget to visit Copper Square. This is a 90 square block downtown filled with urban attractions. They have live theater at the Orpheum Theater and the Herberger Theater Center. They have the Symphony Hall for opera lovers.

  6. Step 6

    A must see is Desert Botanical Garden in Papago Park. It is a nature trail garden, home to one of the world’s most extensive collections of desert plants.

  7. Step 7

    Don’t forget about the shopping on your Phoenix vacation at the Biltmore Fashion Park and Scottsdale Fashion Square. If antiques are more your style then head for the historic downtown Glendale, known as Arizona’s Antiques Capital.”

  • Don't forget to pack a sweater or jacket for evenings. Desert nights can be chilly!

on 1/28/2009 Phoenix is way cool! I got married (one time)in Vegas and did a Honeymoon thingy at The camelback Inn in Scottsdale, AZ... I got bored watchin' all the wealthy "would be Golfers" that were 65 yrs old with their trophy wives that were 25, lol. So I rented a car, left my wife (not really) and went to Phoenix. It's the "South West" personified, loved it! ~ 5*stars ~ Carson
