Getting ready for a bikini wax? Whether it's your first time, or you're a waxing veteran, there are a few steps you can take to make the experience a little less painful.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aspirin
  1. Step 1

Make sure you aren't nearing your menstrual cycle. As you get closer to your menstrual cycle, your nerve endings are more sensitive making mild pain feel much harsher. Schedule your appointment accordingly to avoid the pain.

  2. Step 2

Take an aspirin an hour or two before the appointment. Taking an aspiring before you're waxed will reduce the pain, and also bring down any inflammation the wax may cause on such a sensitive area. If you know you'll be out before the appointment, throw an aspirin in your makeup bag, and set an alarm on your cell phone so you'll remember to take it and cut down on any redness.

  3. Step 3

During the waxing, relax. Calm yourself by closing your eyes and slowly inhaling and exhaling to relieve tension. Allow yourself to concentrate on your breathing, which will distract you from the task at hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be sure to seek the services of someone who is skilled in this area. If you don't know what spa or salon to visit to get your bikini area waxed, ask a friend or check out a local website with reviews.
