Picking the right flowers to set the mood for the holidays or any special event

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • fresh flowers
  • anything to put it in
  • fresh flower food
  • water
  • scissors
  1. Step 1

You would like to start with the freshest flowers that is available. If possible try to shop on delivery days. Most floral department work will be happy to let you know when their flowers come in. Be sure to pass up flowers that have dry, droopy ends, and look for flowers that still have little flowers that haven't bloomed yet. The stems should look firm and fresh when you take it our of the water. If, you see slim or smell something fishy. Then that just means don't pick those flowers because they will not last as long.

  2. Step 2

Just choose one flower or color that is appropriate for that holiday and pair it with two other colors. If, prearrange flowers is all that is available then buy two of them and separate the colors and make to different designs. When you get the flowers home, you would want to immediately cut the stems of the flower with scissors in an angle. Keep flowers in water while you arrange them. Place these flowers in anything you have available like a cute basket, to a plastic bottle, to a nice vase.

  3. Step 3

Think about how you want your floral arrangement to be looked at. If, it will be in the corner or against a wall. then you wouldn't have to worry so much about the back. but you can make it more full like in the front. If, you use a color scheme then put them together with the bigger ones standing out. As the small ones will just disappear behind the bigger flowers. And, finally your able to step back and admire your great work and wait to see what people say when they see what you have done.
