Things You'll Need:
- Shower stall
- Plumbing
- 2x8x8
- 4x8 sheet of plywood
- Tools
-
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is make sure that you have enough room in your existing bathroom to add your shower. Once you have determined that there is enough room now you can decide on the type of shower to install.Corner showers work great for saving space in small bathroom.
-
Step 2
Now that your shower stall is picked out start laying out the platform that the shower stall will be sitting on by using the dimensions given on the shower stall box. Make sure the platform is 8 inches high to allow for the trap to be mounted on the bottom of the shower stall base.
-
Step 3
When installing your shower plan on placing it on a wall where you can have access to the plumbing. This will make it easier for installation and repairs.
-
Step 4
Continue building your platform based on the dimensions of your shower stall base. Make sure that the platform is a 8 inches wider than the base to allow for a step.
-
Step 5
When your platform is finished you can place the shower stall on top mounting it in place, now continue by installing the plumbing required. I recommend having some plumbing experience or hiring a plumber when doing this job.
-
Step 6
Make sure that the drain is tied into the sewer drain for proper drainage. Good luck!
