Snake bookmark with repeating heart pattern.
Snake bookmark with repeating heart pattern.

Simple Valentine's kids can make for friends, classmates, teachers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Felt--1 sheet makes about 5 valentine's
  • Ribbon about 6-8" each
  • Glue(I use a hot glue gun)
  • Extra doodads such as beads, tissue paper, crap fabric.
  1. Step 1

Cut out the shape for top of the bookmark. Snakes head or Hearts work great. You need 2 shapes front and Back. Also cut out shape for bottom of bookmark 2 pieces each front and back. Snake tails and arrows are great. These are uncomplicated shapes. Look at picture you will see the snake head is half of an oval and the tail is triangular. Hint: Make sure your shapes are wider than your ribbon!

  2. Step 2

Cut Ribbon 6-8" long. Glue back of snake head then ribbon and front of snake head (like a sandwich together). Do Not Glue The Whole Head Together if you want it to have a mouth! Hot glue works best but if you are working with Kids tacky glue might be best depending on their age/maturity. Do the same for the bottom of the bookmark. Sandwich the ribbon between the front and back snake tail and glue.

  3. Step 3

Decorate with beads for eyes ( Googly eyes work great too) I used tissue paper hearts as a pattern for the snake. Small triangles of white ribbon for fangs and I used Christmas ribbon for a small forked tongue all just glued in place with hot glue.
