The 2009 IRS Recovery Rebate Tax Credit is for people who did not receive their full stimulus refund check for 2008.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you are eligible for the IRS 2009 Recovery Rebate Tax Credit it will be included as a refund on your tax return, unlike the IRS economic stimulus payment in 2008 which was issued as a check.

While doing your taxes, you should be able to tell whether or not you meet the terms required to qualify.

  2. Step 2

See if you meet the requirements. Those eligible for the IRS tax rebate include people who did not receive IRS stimulus tax checks in 2008, received less than the maximum economic stimulus tax amount allowed on their checks, added an additional qualified child in 2008, were claimed as a dependant on someone else's tax return but can not be claimed as a dependent on another tax return in 2008 and those who did not have an eligible social security number in 2007 but acquired one in 2008.

  3. Step 3

If you are still unsure, you can find details about eligibility requirements and instructions for applying for the IRS Recovery Rebate Credit, as well as other tax topics, by visiting the IRS link found in the resources section below.
