Things You'll Need:
- Shoes or Boots with Heels
-
Step 1
WALK THE LINE. Pretend you’re in the circus, performing as a high-wire walker. The only way you can keep your job (or stay alive!) is to place one foot in front of the next, step by step. Your balance is evenly distributed between the heel and ball of your foot. Now put on your shoes and walk with these concepts in mind.
-
Step 2
LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD. Okay, you can look left or right, but the point is, don’t look down. It juts your head forward, looks clumsy and your walking attitude will suffer. Remember, your head weighs 25 pounds. Keep it centered over your spine.
-
Step 3
WHERE ARE YOUR ARMS? Arms stabilize us as we walk. Keeping the swing of your arms at a smaller arc will help you take smaller steps.
-
Step 4
LET THEM WAIT. Heels are for walking, not running. Take your time and feel the attitude of your new stride. You’ll feel more confident if you take your time.

on 1/28/2009 Good tips! I never seemed to know how to walk in heels--Which is why I think I have worn flats most of the time. Perhaps these tips could be of help :)
