   First checkout the website farecast.com. This little-known website will help you to decide if now is even the right time to be buying airline tickets.
   The site calculates massive amounts of flight schedule information to tell you whether the price of flights will be going up, or whether more discount airfare will be coming online before your flight.

2. 

   If farecast.com says that ticket prices for your flight will be going up or staying the same, proceed to step 3 to try and find a bargain.

   If farecast.com says that prices are going down, wait for the recommended period of time, so that you will be able to get the cheapest flight possible, and then begin again from step 1.

   Make sure to check if you have accrued any miles on your credit card or points that can be used toward getting a free airfare, discount airfare, or cheap airline ticket.
