Ever had a potato that is too undercooked? It's gross. Here's how to make a perfect baked potato every time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • baked potato
  • fork or spoon (or metal skewer)
  • oven
  1. Step 1

-Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

-Scrub the outside of your potato clean with your hands and some water or produce washing solution till you remove all dirt or debris.

  3. Step 3

-Poke handle of fork, spoon, or metal skewer through the middle of the potato and out the other side. Spray the skewer, spoon, or fork handle with cooking spray before inserting to make cleanup easier later.

  4. Step 4

-Put potato in oven (with skewer still inside) and cook for one hour. Prepare the rest of dinner while these are cooking or have a cup of tea and watch Oprah.

  5. Step 5

-Your potato will come out perfectly with a crisp outer skin and soft inside just how they are supposed to be cooked. Serve as is or make your favorite potato dish.
-Try making Homemade Mashed Potatoes or Potato Skins

on 3/18/2009 I've done this many times. It works like a charm. I've never had an undercooked potato that was skewered prior to cooking.
