Things You'll Need:
- old sock
- jar of catnip (dry) or a catnip plant.
-
Step 1
Buy some catnip (dry) works best. This can be found at any pet store or even places like Meijers or Target. Get an old sock (make sure its long enough to make a knot). hold the sock open (its easier if someone helps you do this part) then pour the dry catnip inside the sock.
-
Step 2
shake the contents to the bottom of the sock and tie a knot at the top to prevent the catnip from dumping out. Next, sprinkle a little bit of loose catnip on the sock to get the cat started. Let the cat sniff it first because if you throw it most cats are too lazy to go catch it.
-
Step 3
catnip can cause an amazing reaction! The cat will rub it, roll over it, kick at it, and generally go nuts for several minutes. Then the cat will lose interest and walk away. Two hours later, the cat may come back and have exactly the same response.

on 4/23/2009 Great article on using catnip to get your cat to exercise. I have 2 cats in which 1 gets crazy around catnip while the other one gets nostalgic and will end up sliding around on his back around the room in a catnip trance. 5* =D
