Things You'll Need:
- 9 oz rocks glass
- salt glass rimmer
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 1 medium lemon cut into 8 pieces
- well carbonated soda water
- small or cracked ice cubes
-
Step 1
Take 1 piece of the cut lemon and rub it around the rim of the rocks glass several times, making sure to get enough juice to hold the salt firmly to the glass rim. Use the salt rimmer to get an evenly salted, rimmed glass top.
-
Step 2
Being careful to not disturb the salted rim, add about 3/4 glass of small cubes or cracked ice. Add the 1 1/2 ounces of vodka. Don't tarry between this step and the next. You don't want to let the vodka melt the ice and water down your drink.
-
Step 3
Squeeze the remaining lemon into the vodka and ice, adding several of the squeezed pieces to the glass. Adding the lemon pieces allows for not only the flavor of the lemon juice but also the oil of the peel to mix with the other ingredients.
-
Step 4
Fill glass to just below the salted rim with fresh soda water and stir gently. Enjoy.
