Normally when you clean the house do you avoid cleaning your artificial plants? You shouldn’t. Cleaning artificial plants or silk plants can be easy if done right. Here are some tips to keep your fake plants from looking dusty.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salt
  • hair dryer
  • dryer sheets
  • pillow case
  • vacuum
  1. Step 1

The first step you should try in cleaning those artificial flowers is to shake the dirt away. Then get some salt and pour a cup full into a paper bag, toss in your artificial plants, seal it tight and give it a few shakes. The dislodged dust on the fake or silk flowers will cling to the granules, leaving stems spotless.

  2. Step 2

Another great tip for those dusty artificial plants is to blow the dust away. You do this by holding your fake flowers over the sink and giving them a blast of cool air with your hair dryer. The dusty debris will land in your sink and you can just rinse it away. This will cause your blooms on your silk plants to look new again.

  3. Step 3

If you have just a few dusty blooms on your artificial plants, then try wiping them with dryer sheets. This will attract the grime like a magnet and leave behind a fresh pleasant fragrance.

  4. Step 4

Another cleaning tip is placing your fake flowers in a pillowcase, knot the case, and then toss in the dryer. Make sure to set your dryer to the “fluff” cycle for five minutes. The dust will shake off onto the pillowcase, leaving your artificial plants gorgeous.

  5. Step 5

Cover your vacuum hose with a piece of pantyhose and suck up the dust from your artificial plants without damaging the leaves. You will be surprised at the outcome.
