Avoid drinking alcohol before and during your flight. Alcohol is depressant that can make you tired and zap your energy. It also will dehydrate you and cause you to have to get up and use those germy bathrooms. Finally, it will disturb your sleep or prevent you from sleeping at all.

Also avoid caffeine which will cause the same issues as alcohol. Caffeine will dehydrate you and keep you from sleeping. Also, it will increase your anxiety levels.

  3. Step 3

Stay hydrated and bring water with you on the plane. Also, drink water before you even get on the plane. Dehydration will aggravate jet lag symptoms.

  4. Step 4

Bring melatonin with you and take if needed to adapt your sleeping schedule to any new time zones. Melatonin can be found at your local health food store and online.
