Step 1
Listen to tunes: With the invention of Ipods and MP3 Players, it has never been easier to carry along music with you. How do you know which music to pick? Before you head to the health club, listen at home and take note of the songs that energize and motivate you.
-
Step 2
Work out with a partner: It truly is amazing how much more motivated we are when we have someone doing it with us! We are social people and nothing makes a workout go faster than someone feeling your pain.
-
Step 3
Debunk the myths in your mind: If you think of walking on a treadmill as a workout (and would rather claw out your eyes) it is time to explore all of the endless possibilities. For example, try out the fitness classes the club has to offer, go for a swim, find a tennis partner, hire a personal trainer. Any of these may change your misconceptions about working out.
-
Step 4
Get to know your fitness instructor and/or personal trainer: We are much more inclined to like doing something if we feel comfortable with it. Get to know the exercise specialists and ask questions. Most will be thrilled to impart their knowledge to you and in turn you will benefit from doing the exercises properly as well as gaining a wealth of knowledge to keep you healthier.
-
Step 5
Join a team: If the fitness club you belong to has teams in a sport or activity you are interested in, join! Why not have fun working out by doing something you enjoy?

Ok, so I play tunes for my workout as a drummer, does this mean I need to listen to tunes while I'm playing other tunes causing massive cacophony? I'll be debunking myths for hours as well as burning calories.
It's a win/win for me!
Nice article!
