How to Prepare for Corporate Team Building Activities
Successful market share and continuing viability in the face of economic chaos are top concerns on most business managers' minds. Before a top level manager signs an agreement with an agent to provide corporate team building activities, there is a lot of work to be done beforehand to identify problems, failings, and what is being done right first. Hard facts, figures and policies need to be formally evaluated in the context of prior business performance, present performance and future projections in an uncertain economy. This will not be an easy job, although it will be a necessary one.
Things You'll Need

- Cooperation of management and non-management employees

1
Prepare a questionnaire for all management and non-management employees with concerns regarding ways to improve the situations identified. On the next part of the questionnaire, ask what the company can do to improve on policies and procedures that they do not feel enhance market share. Add that all remarks must be kept very short and to the point. Do not set a limit on the amount of replies, but do ask that all replies for business improvement be in order of most important to least important.
-
2
Keep all returned questionnaires from non-business management employees anonymous, and decide if replies from management employees will be anonymous. Keep the replies of each group separated. Surprising patterns may develop over the period of time it takes to collate and evaluate the individual responses.
-
-
3
Organize the responses. Once the responses have been evaluated into a final report, this information can form the base to begin a search for an agency to prepare appropriate corporate team building activities.
-
4
Decide on a budget that takes into strict account the fiscal responsibility owed to all employees and shareholders alike. Expensive off-site events for corporate team building activities waste money as well as a great deal of productive time. It is particularly important not to plan events that alienate persons on commission or reduce required productivity levels. Do not alienate the public and customer base by the excess. Appropriate corporate team building activities should never create additional problems when trying to solve them.
-
5
Carefully choose an agent that has the ability to provide solutions for the problems and goals identified in the final report done on the questionnaires. This may take some time to be certain that both the business and the agent can work together to provide a suitable program.
-
6
Plan ahead for follow-ups at various intervals to insure that meaningful activities are implemented in the workplace. A business needs to know if they were beneficial.

It can seem really lame when your company makes you participate in these kinds of activities, and true enough not all of it ends up being anything you would use, but I have found that if you endure, you tend to come away with at least one or two tips or pointers that you hadn't considered before and which end up helping you later on. -
