Shaving everyday is like rubbing your skin with sandpaper. It removes sebum and skin layers, leaving sensitive new skin exposed to the elements.
To get a good shave, use pre-shaving products or water to reduce the strength of the hair shaft. If your skin is dry, apply a moisturizer BEFORE the shaving cream. Try to use new blades as often as possible and shave in the direction of hair growth. Use plenty of water for clean-up.
For those faces or skin parts that sometimes have an issue with shaving, here is a wonderful smelling, antiseptic, and refreshing aftershave you can make and personalize if you wish.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • witch hazel 4 tsp
  • rosewater 2 ounces
  • cider vinegar 2 tsp
  • Tincture of benzoin 2 tsp
  • bay essential oil 6 drops
  • lemon essential oil 6 drops
  • rosemary essential oil 10 drops
  • lime essential oil 3 drops
  1. Step 1

The benzoin is a very thick, molasses like substance. Mix all the drops of essential oils to the benzion and shake for one minute.

  2. Step 2

Add the witch hazel to this mixture and shake for another minute.

  3. Step 3

Add the rosewater and vinegar and shake again.

  4. Step 4

Use an attractive glass container and seal. Let it sit for a day to get the scents mixed and blended. Essential oils are always better once they've been given a chance to blend and mature.
This makes a great gift idea. If you are fluent in the ways of essential oils, by all means add a few more oils for a distinguished designer fragrance.
