The first R - RecycleStart Recycling. If you're not already recycling, than start. Recycling reduces the amount of trash that ends up buried at the landfill and conserves natural resources. Many things that end up in the trash are recyclable, just check with your local county or trash service on what can be recycled.

Reduce what you use. Turn off lights when your not in the room, turn off appliances and electronics when you aren't using them

Reuse stuff again. Consider purchasing paper and cardboard made of recycled material.

Use eco-friendly household cleaners: Bleach and ammonia are both bad for the environment. Consider instead using a biodegradable and non toxic house hold cleaner such as Simple Green.

Use your car less. Try to consolidate multiple errands into one trip. Try utilizing public transportation if it is available, otherwise try and join a carpool. Reducing the amount you drive saves gasoline, reduces greenhouse gases, and keeps the air healthier.

Plant a tree. Plants are nature's way of cleaning the air and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases. They also provide shade, buffer strong winds, reduce erosion and provide a habitat for birds and squirrels.

Safe, reliable, and clean nuclear powerSupport nuclear energy and other clean energies. Air and solar power alone won't solve our reliance on fossil fuels. Nuclear power has come along way since the 1970's and no longer poses any serious safety any longer.
