Things You'll Need:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 tbs of lime juice
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of crushed red pepper
- (optional) diced tomatoes, peppers, or onions
-
Step 1
Cut avocado lengthwise in half, remove pit and set it aside. Do not throw away pit. You will need it later. Scoop the inside of the avocado into a bowl. Throw away the peel.
-
Step 2
Add 1 tablespoon of lime juice, two teaspoons of garlic powder, and one teaspoon each of onion powder and crushed red pepper. Mash well with a fork and stir until well blended. If you wish you may also run these ingredients through a food processor.
-
Step 3
If desired dice a small tomato, and a slice or two of bell peppers or onion and stir into your guacamole. Put the pit back into the bowl. This keeps the guacamole from turning brown.
-
Step 4
Serve guacamole with tortilla chips or add to recipes that call for guacamole. This should serve two people. Recipe will easier double, triple or more if preparing for a party or crowd.

on 1/30/2009 GREAT tip about the avocado pit. I hadn't thought of adding a little garlic to the guacamole but that's a great tip, too.
{adding to my favorites; thanks!}
