Things You'll Need:
- garbanzo beans (dried or canned)
- lemon juice
- garlic
- chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
- roasted red peppers (optional)
-
Step 1
If you are using dried garbanzo beans, soak them overnight according to package instructions. You will also need to cook them the next day before use, again, according to the instructions on the package.
-
Step 2
For the canned variety, empty them into a colander and rinse well before proceeding to the next step.
-
Step 3
You can use either a blender, or a food processor to make your hummus. Simply blend together about two cups of garbanzo beans (or contents of a 14 oz. can), 2 Tbs. lemon juice, and two garlic cloves, crushed. Add your chicken broth just a spoonful at a time to keep the mixture blending. You shouldn't need very much.

Step 4
Once it's smooth, it'd done! It's best served cold. Enjoy with veggies, crackers, or pita bread.
