Personalized necklaces are very popular. This necklace is a twist on the intial necklace that will have your tween stand out from the others.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Dried Bamboo Stalk Letter Bead Felt Super Glue Grout (pre mixed)(color optional) Small Eye Hook Necklace Power Drill
  1. Step 1

Take one dried stalk of bamboo or a bamboo pole and cut it into rings. Your ring can be 1/2 to 1 inch wide.

  2. Step 2

Pre-drill a hole in the top. Do not go all the way through.

  3. Step 3

Screw in the eye hook. This is the loop that holds the necklace in place.

  4. Step 4

Trace your ring onto a piece of felt. Cut the circle out and trim it so that its just a little smaller than the ring.

  5. Step 5

Glue the felt to the back of the ring.

  6. Step 6

Fill the bamboo ring half-way with the pre-mixed grout.

  7. Step 7

Place the heart shaped bead into the middle of the grout. Make sure the bead is flush with the front of the ring.

  8. Step 8

Fill in around the heart with more grout. Let the grout dry to a haze and wipe a little away.

  9. Step 9

Insert a chain, leather cording, or twine to make your necklace.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the felt is completely dry or the pressure of the grout will unattach it.
  • While the grout is wet you can add some glitter to it as well.
