Things You'll Need:
- Loose grapevine wreath
- Suet
- Seed bells
- Grapes
- Apples
- Oranges
-
Step 1
For the bird feeder wreath, start with a loose grapevine wreath. You can purchase one and soak in warm water for a day. After soaking, the vines can be unwrapped and 2 or 3 new wreaths can be made from the single wreath.
-
Step 2
Find pine boughs of any variety. Whatever kind of pine is most prolific in your area. Take large branches, shape them in a half circle and wire them on to the grape vine wreath. This makes the base for your bird feeders.
-
Step 3
Now it is time to customize your wreath for birds. Buy seed bells and hang one or two from the wreath. Add slices of apples, half of oranges, and grapes.
-
Step 4
Make suet cookies. Slice suet and cut with cookie cutters. After they have been cut out, dip in bird seed. This is a great addition for your bird feeder wreath.
-
Step 5
Do some research about what the local birds like to eat and customize your bird feeder wreath to suit the locals! Have fun with it, and make sure to hang the bird feeder wreath where you can watch the birds enjoy their treat.
