Things You'll Need:
- Love
-
Step 1
First and foremost, develop a mindset that you will not spend time on Valentine's Day making sure YOU have a good day. This day is all about making someone else feel loved and special. If THEY make an effort to make you feel loved and special, then Hey, great!
-
Step 2
Find out what your Valentine likes and try to obtain it. It could wind up being the best gift you could give them. If there's a price tag attached to it, make sure it's within your budget and means. If it isn't and you buy it, you'll feel resentment. This could make your day miserable and suck all the energy out of what should be a wonderful day.
-
Step 3
Don't be afraid to use the words "I love you", if you are in love. On the other hand, don't use the words "I love you", if you use them all the time for every closing conversation you have (i.e. "Okay. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you. Bye."). For Valentine's Day, choose a phrase like "I adore you". Say it with a whisper.
-
Step 4
Don't plan the day expecting to conclude it with great sex in bed that night. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, you'll find that having a great evening and falling to sleep in one another's arms is wonderful. You can get "get busy" in the morning (after you make them breakfast).
-
Step 5
Make the day memorable. Take a risk. If you have been thinking about doing something that your Valentine would like, but can't get up the nerve, now's the time. Do it. They will always remember that you went after it....for them.

on 5/31/2009 Nice article. Thanks Step #3 is very important, because you can't say "I love you" too much.
