Step 1
Most Mechanics will tell you than when your Radiator begins to leak, it is time to spend money and get a new one. However, if you are in a tight money position, there is an alternative. My alternative to a new Radiator, is my own proven and tested method. Prior to purchasing a new car I owned a six year old Honda. After about 5 years the Radiator was leaking in 2 spots causing the car to overheat.

Step 2
Epoxy MixtureFaced with the prospect of shelling out $500 for a new Radiator, I weighed my options. I decided to try and fix the leak on my own. I went to Pep Boys and purchased 2 packages of a epoxy mixture and some finishing strip. Finishing strip looks like silver tape. I mixed my 2 packages of Proxy and applied generous amounts to the holes. I then immediately placed the Finishing strip over the epoxy.

Step 3
When the epoxy dries it hardens in to metal. The Finishing strip over the epoxy provided extra protection. After 2 hours I took my car for a spin. To my surprise, the leaks were fixed. The car got me through another year and a half. At the time I got rid of the car, the apoxy was still holding and no leaks were apparent. I spent exactly $17.29 for all of the supplies. I saved $480 that I would have had to pay for a new Radiator.
