Step 1
Start with your pen and paper and make a list of all of the things you want to be that you are not now. They can be as simple or complex as you want but keep them realistic (use for example: successful, married, have a house, have blonde hair, be 20 pounds lighter, be physically fit, non-smoker, be in a band, get a better job, etc., etc.)

Step 2
Now define each thing in your own terms. For example, you may define being successful as having a job where you make over $50,000 a year or starting up your own business. Define it as it applies to you and your personal goals.

Step 3
The next step is to break each item on your list down into manageable steps. For example, for getting a better job you could say you need to finish your college degree, then apply for interesting jobs until you get one. For losing 20 pounds, your first step could be to start exercising daily and then cut your calories.

Step 4
Work on one step at a time for each goal and do not move on to the next till you have accomplished that step to your satisfaction. Just by the act of working on your goals starting today you will be changing your life and working toward being the person you want to be. Congratulations.
