Buying horse trailers can be stressful and complicated, But knowing where to start can be helpful.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Truck
  • Available Financing
  1. Step 1

Know your horse. If you are a long term owner of 2 or more horses, experiment with what their preferances are concerning loading the trailer. Its best to know so that you wont have loading problems in the future. However, if you are a trainer, go for open concept and light, remembering the horses you are transporting are young and often need friendly trailering environments to make for easier loading.

  2. Step 2

Remember to consider your own budgeting needs

  3. Step 3

Consider space requirements. If you plan to go to overnight shows and camps, you may want a dressing room or living quarters. If your trailer will be used strictly for simple transports, you may not need this

  4. Step 4

Remember the safety portion. Emergency doors are a big plus!

  5. Step 5

Learn about trailer financing; its a tad bit different than vehicle loans
