Things You'll Need:
- paper (plain or fancy)
- pen or pencil
- comfortable seating
- hard flat surface to write on
-
Step 1
Photo courtesy of Flickr.comWith a nice cup of coffee (or other preferred beverage), find a comfortable place to sit to write. This may be in a cozy chair with a flat hard surface on your lap to write on or at a table.
-
Step 2
Visualize what you would like to communicate to the recipient of your writing. Use words that color the picture in their mind as they read your writing. Share your thoughts and emotions. Even if you are writing in a journal, this is very helpful.
-
Step 3
Reread what you wrote to make sure you have everything you wanted to communicate in your writing. You can always add a "p.s." at the end if there's more.
-
Step 4
If you are sending a letter, this is a gift that will be appreciated and savored again and again. If you're writing in a journal, you will enjoy going through your writings and remembering...and also seeing how far you've come.

on 11/16/2009 Letters are more and more rare, and are indeed a gift. Hand written letters are especially nice. Elderly people will appreciate the most of all, in my opinion.
