This shows you how to make Honey Barbecue Sauce. This a sweet and tangy sauce . It is a favorite among all!!
This recipe yeilds 1 cup but, the recipe is easily adapted to make more if needed.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Small onion Chopped fine
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1tsp mustard powder
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp chili sauce
  • 6 fl oz. beef stock
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  1. Step 1

    On a clean cutting board cut , clean , peel and finely chop onion . Take garlic clove place on cutting board. Place the blade of a knife on top of garlic. Press down on blade of knife with your hand to crush garlic. After chopping onion and crushing garlic place in a container and get ready for next step.

  2. Step 2

    Heat oil in a saucepan and cook onion and garlic for about 4 minutes or until soft.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in mustard powder , Worcestershire sauce ,brown sugar , honey , tomato sauce, chili sauce and stock.

  4. Step 4

    Bring to a boil , then reduce heat to a simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Season to taste with black pepper.

  • This recipe can be adapted to make many other variations of barbecue sauces.The options are endless in the flavors that you could create.
  • Some of the items that could be added or substituted are green onions , jalapenos , crushed red pepper , creole seasoning jut to name a few
