How to Straighten Curly or Frizzy Hair
Just as people with straight hair like to curl their hair on occasion, sometimes people with curly or frizzy hair want to straighten their hair. With the right techniques, you can straighten curly or frizzy hair with common hair care products and accessories that you probably already have in your home. Of course the change is temporary, and you'll have to repeat process as desired as the hair becomes curly or frizzy again. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Hair serum/oil
- Blow dryer
- Straightening iron
- Shine spray
- Hair spray
- Hair clips (to separate hair)
- Hair brush
- Comb

Shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would.

Towel dry and comb your hair. Add hair serum to your hair, combing it from the roots to the tips.

Divide your hair into five sections -- a bottom layer, two middle layers and two top layers.

Grab your hair brush and blow dryer. Starting at the bottom layer, tightly pull your hair with the brush and begin blow drying. Do this for each section. Try pulling the hair as tightly as possible to get as much curl out as you can.

Divide hair again as you did in Step 3.

Make sure your straightening iron is plugged in and ready. Work from the bottom layer of your hair up to the top layer, using the straightening iron to straighten each layer of hair. Straighten the hair in 1-inch sections and slowly press it with the straightening iron from the root to the tip.

Once each section has been ironed, spray on the shining spray. Use hair spray to minimize the number of stray hairs.

Style your hair as desired, applying additional hair spray if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
The dryer your hair is, the quicker and easier it is to straighten
Straightening irons can become extremely hot; be careful not to burn yourself.
When using the iron, don't go too slow; doing so can singe your hair.
