Soften Chapped Lips Naturally

It's easy to soften chapped lips naturally. The harsh winter months seem to bring out the tendency for lips to become chapped. Chapped lips can be painful and annoying. Besides constantly rubbing lip balm on your lips, there are other ways to soften chapped lips to bring relief.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Olive oil
  • Burt's Bee Natural Lip Balm with Sunscreen
  1. Step 1

To soften chapped lips apply virgin olive oil to lips three times a day. The anti-inflammatory antioxidants in olive oil will soothe, soften, and lubricate your lips. You should see results in two to three days.

  2. Step 2

Make sure to use lip balm with sunscreen even during the winter months when the sun's UV-rays are still as harmful as summer's rays. Using lip balm during the winter will help soften your chaped lips. Check out Burt's Bees lip balm made from all natural ingredients with sunscreen. The link for Burt's Bees is located in the resource section near the bottom of this webpage. On the main page, the lip link is located to the left.

  3. Step 3

on 4/6/2009 Love the tips! Personally I find that applying a great lip balm throughout the day keeps dryness away (oh, it rhymes lol). The best lip balm I've come across is Extreme Pout by Isabella Pelle. I have a tube in every bag I own and apply it throughout the day. A huge plus - its a PLUMPING lip balm. In any case, definitely will try the olive oil. I've found olive oil has done wonders for my scalp - it'll be interesting to see what it does to my lips..;)

on 1/25/2009 Great article on chapped dry lips. Living in the desert, it's a given you're gonna' have to keep moisturizing so they stay soft and kissable all year long. :)
