Babysitting classes are a great way to gain the skills and confidence needed to start a babysitting career. Babysitting classes will prepare you for emergencies, give you ideas for activities, and share ideas on finding clients. Babysitting classes can be found in a number of places.

  1. Step 1

    Sign up for a Red Cross Babysitter's Training Course. Go to your local Red Cross website to sign up for the course (link provided below in the Resources section). The Red Cross babysitting classes are primarily for 11-15 year olds. It covers all aspects of babysitting from emergencies and safety procedures to resume writing.

  2. Step 2

    Check with your local 4H organization. Many local chapters offer babysitting classes for teens.

  3. Step 3

    Sign up for Safe Sitter babysitting classes. This is a national program that trains instructors to work at teaching sites around the country.

  4. Step 4

    Call the local community center to see if they offer babysitting classes.

  5. Step 5

    Check with the local hospital. Many hospitals offer babysitting classes or first aid classes for babysitters.

  6. Step 6

    Sign up for online babysitting classes. If you have difficulty finding a local class, an online class may be your best option.
